You might expect to find this scene in Switzerland or perhaps somewhere else in the Alps but this scene is actually located in Alaska along the scenic and beautiful Hatchers Pass. Hatchers pass is a scenic drive outside of Wasilla. I photographed these little cabins about 5 years ago in a dense fog and wanted to come back on this visit in better weather to capture them again. Since the elevation changes so much it is not unusual to see very diverse and changing weather. I was impressed to see such a wonderful array of little tiny cabins in the middle of nowhere, apparently well cared for but completely abandoned or at least not occupied while I was passing through. You just never know what you may find around the corner traveling the remote areas of Alaska.
