Description
If you have never been to historic downtown Savannah, you are missing a truly beautiful southern city. This photo was taken from the docks in the historic river district which is full of restaurants, bars, hotels and life. This bridge is the center of attention from this area as it is so beautiful, especially as the sun goes down behind it.
Completed in 1991 the new Talmadge Memorial bridge replaced an old cantilever bridge that was just not tall enough or safe enough for the larger ships passing underneath. This new structure is dedicated to Eugene Talmadge, the Governor of Georgia between 1933-1937.
