The first time I spotted this view was in 1995. I had to wait in this spot for more than 20 minutes to wait for all the visitors to get out of my camera view. Once I was able to take the shots, in both B&W and color, I noticed a film crew waiting in the background. They came up to me and asked if it was a good shot. I said I thought it was a great shot, they went and took the same pictures and, their pictures and video were then used for a Texas tourism TV commercial. I felt robbed... Every time I make it back to San Antonio, I stop by to capture this image. It is always a bit different but still beautiful and peaceful.
This is the Missions San Jose, the largest and best preserved of all the missions in what is called the mission trail in the local San Antonio area. The reason why is this was restored during the depression in the WPA, or Works Projects Association to try and get Americans employed during the great depression.
