Description
Recently, I flew into a private airfield north of Fort Worth where a friend was hosting a pancake breakfast. This North American T-6 Texan flew in but before he landed, he proceeded to give us an impromptu air show with smoke, loops, rolls and everything. The North American Aviation T-6 Texan is a single-engined advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF), United States Navy, Royal Air Force, and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II. This was the last aircraft you trained in before you were picked for your advanced fighter such as the P-51, the F4U Corsair or the P-47.
