Description
The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is the most iconic and beloved American fighter used during World War II and the Korean War. The Mustang was designed in 1940 by North American Aviation (NAA) in response to a British request to license build Curtiss P-40's. Rather than build an old design North American came up with their own design and presented it to the British Government. The rest, as they say is history. The first airplane first flew just 102 days after the contract was written. That just wouldn't be possible today.....
