Description
This is looking inside the lens of the lighthouse in Cape Mears, Oregon. Recently, while visiting I was allowed to stick my head inside the lens to capture this view. I hope you like it as much as I liked taking this shot.
A little history on the fresnel lens: In 1822 a French physicist, Augustin Fresnel, invented a lens that would make his name commonplace along the seacoasts of Europe and North America. ... It consists of concentric rings of glass prisms that bend the light coming front a lamp inside the lens into a narrow beam.
