Great story about your day with these bears, nice they didn't spy you! Congrats on the well deserved Artists Spotlight on FAA! LF

Artist's Description

Now, first and foremost I don't recommend getting this close to wild bears, especially a mama bear with her three cubs. I came across this family walking on the trails around Grand Teton National Park. I saw foliage ahead of me moving in an unnatural manner so I stopped and watched for a few minutes. I finally saw a bear nose poke through the bushes and realized there were more so as I sat there and watched, I soon realized there were 3 cubs and a mama bear. Knowing that, I realized I was really too close but, they hadn't noticed me so I just stayed put and watched them frolic and play in the foliage. When they finally moved and gave me room to walk down the trail, I rounded the next corner and they were walking on this open bluff, still too close. So, since they really still didn't noticed me yet I sat there and took a few images until I watched them slowly move away so I could also move on.

As an engineer working in the aerospace world, everything has to be perfect and exacting. My approach to photography is no different. As I look through the viewfinder I am constantly thinking how it could be, or how it could be improved. Originally from Cleveland Ohio, I am now a Texas based photographer specializing in...
